2014 F250 Battery Light

When engine is off the volts drop to about 12.

The battery light is on but the voltmeter says 13 5 to 14 5 volts depending on the engine revs. I have a 2012 6 7 at 50 000 miles with the single heavy duty alternator. Turn the truck back on then getting 12 5v won t go above that and the battery light remains on. React to the battery light.

Batteries are 2 year old napa legends and tested. Ok i have 14 04 volts at the batteries with the engine running but my battery light is on. Voltage is at 13 5 with battery light on drive and do what i need to get to where i m going shut the truck off then get back in and turn it on 12 3 12 5v max. Turn off everything that draws power.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery failed. Checked the batteries and got 12 6 v with the engine off and 13 7 volts with the engine running. I had the alternator checked off the engine and on the engine and it tests good. If the battery light comes on while the engine is running and the vehicle is being driven this indicates a problem with the charging system.

My mechanic says that the alternator must be charging but why is the light on. Noticed the battery light illuminated on my instrument cluster yesterday. Drive a while stop the truck turn it off etc. When you first turn on your car with the engine off the battery light will illuminate and this is normal.

Is there something internal to. The contact owns a 2014 ford f 250. 1999 to 2016 super duty battery light on but alternator is charging. Assuming that the voltmeter is correct and reads 13 5v to 14 5v what.
